01Where it sits

Digital Influence Activation in the NIRES pipeline

Digital Influence Activation is the eighth NIRES module and the first module of the Activation & Execution stage. It carries the social media activity orchestration capability: managing and orchestrating content and engagement activities across up to 1,000 accounts on 5 major social media platforms. All of it runs as official institutional communication through accounts the institution manages, and starts from strategy approved in the preceding stage.

The module receives assignments from Response Task Management: key messages, material, target channels and deadlines. Its output is official communication that is fully logged. Every account, piece of material and interaction links back to the assignment it came from, passes through RBAC and multi-tier approval, and is stored as a traceable record for assessment in Digital Sentiment Assessment.

02How the module works

Input, process and output of Digital Influence Activation

The module executes what has already been decided and approved, so official communication stays consistent with institutional strategy.

  1. 01

Input from the Strategy & Action stage

The assignment package from Response Task Management: key messages, official communication material, target channels and deadlines, resting on Strategic Response Advisor recommendations and the issue context in the NIRES Media Monitoring Database.

  2. 02

    Multi-tier approval

Material and channel plans are reviewed through multi-tier approval and constrained by RBAC, so only content signed off by authorised officials can run.

  3. 03

    Official communication delivery

Content and engagement run on the institution's official accounts across 5 social media platforms, up to 1,000 accounts, following the schedule and channels set out in the assignment.

  4. 04

    Output

Fully logged official communication activity — material, channels, timing and owner — ready for assessment by Digital Sentiment Assessment in the Impact Evaluation stage.

05Frequently asked questions

Questions about Digital Influence Activation

What is Digital Influence Activation?

It is the NIRES module in the Activation & Execution stage that runs official institutional communication on social media, managing content and engagement across up to 1,000 accounts on 5 platforms. All of them are official accounts the institution manages, run from approved strategy under RBAC and multi-tier approval.

Does the activity run on official institutional channels?

Yes. Activity runs only on official accounts managed by the institution and is fully logged: material, channels, timing and owner are stored as an auditable record. All material originates from the institution's official channels and must clear the multi-tier approval chain before it runs.

How is the result measured?

Once activity has run, Digital Sentiment Assessment in the Impact Evaluation stage assesses sentiment movement across the 5 social media platforms through metrics, trends, comparisons and AI-powered executive summaries. The findings are returned to the NIRES Media Monitoring Database to sharpen the next cycle.
